Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is spectacularly set between the two huge volcanic peaks of snow-capped mount Kilimanjaro and rugged Mount Meru. With its Ngurdoto crater that makes the park to resemble Ngorongoro crater.

Aberdares National Park

The Aberdares National Park is part of the Aberdares mountain ranges ( as high as 14,000 feet above the sea level) which slopes on the western side of the wall, adjacent to the Rift Valley. The eastern slopes, due to its contour and altitude make it favorable to the wildlife habitat.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park was declared Amboseli National Reserve in 2005. and is one of Kenya’s most prevalent parks because of the astonishing view it exhibits of the nearby Mt Kilimanjaro. It is one of the smaller game parks in Kenya. The Amboseli’s  vegetation ensures that the animals are easy to spot.

Bwindi National Park

Bwindi is one of Uganda’s most recently created national parks. The formerly known as the Impenetrable Forest, covers 128 sq miles in the south-west of the Uganda, close to the Congo border. It encompasses one of the last remaining habitats of the mountain gorilla. This is a home to half of the surviving mountain gorillas in the world – an estimated 320 individuals.

Gombe Stream National Park

With an area of 52 sq km, Gombe stream is Tanzania’s smallest national park,but one of the most popular, famous for its chimpanzees, being one of the few remaining places where they can be found in their natural habitat.

Katavi National Park

Katavi National Park is 35 km of southwest of Mpanda. The Park is Tanzania’s third largest park and one of its most unspoiled wilderness areas. A great area to see a lot of crocodiles and hippos.

Lake Manyara National Park

Among the attractions of the often underrated Lake Manyara National Park are it’s superb birdlife, its elusive tree climbing lions and abundance of hippos which you can observe at a closer range here that at any other place.

Lake Nakuru National Park

The alkaline lake lies on the edge of the Nakuru town and is about 100 miles from the city of Nairobi. The name Nakuru derives its name from Masai language, meaning a dusty place. Though it started very small covering only the lake and the surrounding mountainous features, is now expanded to provide a sanctuary for the black rhinos.  

Mahale Mountains National Park

Mahale Mountains is one of the most remote and most beautiful national parks in the whole of Africa. The green forested slopes flow from the peaks to the white-sand beaches on the shoreline of the Tanganyika lake. Its about 75 miles away from Kigoma town and can be accessed by boat along the lake or by fly in. Mahale is one of the best location in the world for viewing chimpanzee .

Masai Mara

The Masai Mara National Reserve lies about 5 hours drive from Nairobi City. You can also get here by taking a 45 minutes scheduled flights (fly twice each day). The reserve is about 580 square miles but the wildlife is far from being confined within the reserve boundaries. Named after the river Mara that crosses the park, and the Masai people who live in the region, is definitely the most famous reserve.
