Arusha National Park is spectacularly set between the two huge volcanic peaks of snow-capped mount Kilimanjaro and rugged Mount Meru. With its Ngurdoto crater that makes the park to resemble Ngorongoro crater. The Aberdares National Park is part of the Aberdares mountain ranges ( as high as 14,000 feet above the sea level) which slopes on the western side of the wall, adjacent to the Rift Valley. The eastern slopes, due to its contour and altitude make it favorable to the wildlife habitat. Addo Elephant National Park (AENP) is situated in a malaria free area just one hour drive from Port Elizabeth. Addo Park was initially proclaimed in 1931 to preserve what remained of the last 11 elephants population in the region. The park is perhaps now in it’s most significant phase of expansion. Amboseli National Park was declared Amboseli National Reserve in 2005. and is one of Kenya’s most prevalent parks because of the astonishing view it exhibits of the nearby Mt Kilimanjaro. It is one of the smaller game parks in Kenya. The Amboseli’s vegetation ensures that the animals are easy to spot. Big Hole National Battlefield is a memorial to the people who fought and died here on August 9 and 10, 1877; combatants in a five month conflict that came to be called the Nez Perce War of 1877. Like other Indian Wars in the late 1800’s, the Nez Perce War involved two very different groups with very different outlooks on land rights, civilian authority, government powers, social organization, and the responsibilities of the individuals to society. Bwindi is one of Uganda’s most recently created national parks. The formerly known as the Impenetrable Forest, covers 128 sq miles in the south-west of the Uganda, close to the Congo border. It encompasses one of the last remaining habitats of the mountain gorilla. This is a home to half of the surviving mountain gorillas in the world – an estimated 320 individuals. The Cango Caves has some of the biggest stalagmite formations in the world set in Precambrian (a time about 4500 million years ago) limestone. It stretches for about 4 kilometers. The Cango Caves are a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of towering stalagmite formations. Cape Agulhas ( In Portuguese, “Cabo das Agulhas” meaning “Cape of Needles”) is the geographic southern tip of the African continent, commonly thought to be the nearby Cape of Good Hope. It was most commonly known in English as Cape Lagullas until the 20th century. The cape is defined for hydrographic purposes to be the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Cape Town is one of the world known cosmopolitan city. Described by Sir Francis Drake in 1580 as ‘the fairest cape in all the world’, the ‘Mother City’ of Cape Town is one of the world’s top tourist destinations that you don’t want to miss.
