Katavi National Park is 35 km of southwest of Mpanda. The Park is Tanzania’s third largest park and one of its most unspoiled wilderness areas. A great area to see a lot of crocodiles and hippos. Mikumi National Park is located approximately 300 km west of Dar es Salaam, and is a popular destination for weekend visitors. The park lies within a flood plain bordered by the Uluguru Mountain range to the east and the Rubeho Mountains on the west and covers an area of over 3,200 sq kms. Ruaha National Park is the second largest game reserve in Tanzania with 12,950sq km, and the world’s largest elephant sanctuary. The park has a spectacular scenery, with an abundance of wildlife, and one of the lesser visited in the country, keeping it an isolated, peaceful and unspoilt wilderness. Selous Game Reserve has an approximately 45,000 sq km, it’s the Africa’s largest reserve and Tanzania’s most extensive protective area. It has a large concentration of elephants, as well as buffaloes, wild dogs, hippos and crocodiles. It has a large number of birdlife and it one of the places in Tanzania you can sport the remaining black rhinos. |
